Black and white portrait photographers 2012 ideas
When I started out as a young photographer back in the sixty’s, just about all images in advertising were shot in Black and White and we use to work mostly with large view cameras sizes 5×4 inch, half plate, whole plate and 10×8 inch, using B/W sheet film made by Kodak. Most people who think of Portrait Photography tend to only think there is one or possible only two styles to choose from but just like Wedding Photos there are many. That’s the beauty of photography in that it generates creativity and new styles emerge from time to time. Then other photographers adopt them and add their own creativity to them. Most people are completely unaware of canvas photo prints and simply do not realize that they exist. Until you have seen the quality that online organizations can produce from their websites it is almost impossible to imagine how good photos on canvas can be.
There were no Point and Shoot Digital Cameras or Compact cameras and color negative film was so expensive to buy and even more expensive to process and print, most times it just wasn’t used and the quality was poor. Before we consider the artistic merits of a black and white photo on canvas, we should initially consider the basic premise of printing a photo on canvas. To the uninitiated, photos on canvas do not simply enlarge a favorite photo for hanging on a wall the photo canvas prints come alive as a direct result of the canvas material. There is a sound reason beyond those of simple expediency why great painters always painted on canvas and that is the texture of the fabric. Photo canvas prints have luster as a direct result of the ink jet printing but they also have a texture that imbues the image with life.
